About Tom

Nineteen years in the room

Tom Slocum started making cold calls in 2007 and never really stopped. He's built and rebuilt outbound orgs as an SDR, AE, Manager, Director, VP, and now as founder of The SD Lab.

The story

  1. 2007
    Chapter 01

    The first dial

Started as an SDR because it was the door that was open. Fell in love with the craft, the actual conversations, not the hustle.

  2. 2010
    Chapter 02

    AE. Learning the whole deal

Ran the cycle end to end. Learned what a rep's job actually is once the meeting's booked.

  3. 2014
    Chapter 03

    Manager. Coaching in the trenches

Discovered that reps don't need more training. They need someone in the fight next to them.

  4. 2017
    Chapter 04

    Director. VP. Building the system

Built and rebuilt outbound orgs at multiple startups. Learned the difference between a team that works and a system that scales.

  5. 2022
    Chapter 05

    Founder. The SD Lab

Started The SD Lab to do the work I wish someone had done for me: real, in-the-trenches rebuilds. Not decks.

  6. Today
    Chapter 06

    Nineteen years in. Still dialing

Working with a handful of B2B SaaS teams a year. Writing every week. Coaching the operators who care.

"Coaching happens in the trenches.
Everything else is theater."

Why Revenue Rebuild exists

Every seat Tom has sat in points at the same failure

The teams that stall rarely have a people problem. They have an operating-system problem: targeting nobody can defend, messaging that sounds like everyone else, call coaching that never happens, and a manager rhythm that reviews dashboards instead of conversations.

Revenue Rebuild is the engagement built out of that pattern. Tom works alongside leadership, managers and SDRs, rebuilds those pieces on live calls and real accounts, and hands back a system the team runs without him.
